Shortcuts can really make the job alot easier and faster and sometimes without them u cant do something. In this topic i'll list the main photoshop shortcuts, who ill assist u in creating your great userbars. I'll divide them in categories so u can find better what ure searching.

[Basic]
(CTRL+O) Open file.
(CTRL+N) New document.
(CTRL+S) Save file.
(CTRL+SHIFT+S) Save file as.
(CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+S) Save for web.
(CTRL+SHIFT+O) File Browser.

[Tools]
(M) Marquee.
(V) Move.
(L) Lasso.
(W) Magic Wand.
(C) Crop.
(K) Slice. Slice Select.
(J) Healing Brush. Patch. Color Replacement.
(B) Brush. Pencil.
(S) Clone Stamp. Pattern Stamp.
(Y) History Brush. Art History Brush.
(E) Eraser. Background Eraser. Magic Eraser.
(G) Gradient. Paint Bucket.
(R) Blur. Sharpen. Smudge.
(O) Dodge. Burn. Sponge.
(A) Direct Selection. Path Selection.
(T) Type.
(P) Pen.
(U) Shapes.
(N) Notes. Audio Annotation.
(I) Eyedropper. Color Sampler. Measure.
(H) Hand.
(Z) Zoom.
(D) Default foreground and background colors.
(X) Swap foreground and background colors.
(SHIFT+CTRL+M) Edit in ImageReady.
(SHIFT+Tool Shortcut) Switch to a sub tool. Ex. SHIFT+R will switch to Sharpen Tool. SHIFT+R again will switch to Smudge Tool. Again SHIFT+R will switch to Blur Tool.

[Workspace]
(CTRL+R) Show/Hide Rulers.
(ALT+Clik over Guide) Toogle guide vertically or horizontally.
(CTRL+H) Hide guides (note: It is a universal shortcut for hiding extras: guides, selections etc)
(CTRL+ALT+;) Toggle guide lock on/off.
(CTRL+') Toggle grid on/off.
(CTRL+SHIFT+;) Toggle snapping on/off.
(F) Toggle between "Standart", "Full With Menu Bar" and "Full" screen modes.
(TAB) Show/Hide palettes and Tools bar.
(SHIFT+TAB) Show/Hide palettes.
(Click and drag on rulers to create guides)

[Dialogs]
(CTRL+L) Levels.
(CTRL+SHIFT+L) Auto levels.
(CTRL+M) Curves.
(CTRL+U) Hue/Saturation.
(CTRL+SHIFT+U) Desaturate.
(CTRL+B) Color Balance.
(CTRL+SHIFT+B) Auto color.
(CTRL+F) Last filter.
(CTRL+ALT+F) Reopen last filter dialog.
(CTRL+SHIFT+F) Fade applied filter.
(CTRL+ALT+Any dialog shortcut) Reopens the dialog with the last configuration.

[Zoom and Pan]
(CTRL+0) Fit on screen.
(CTRL+ALT+0) Actual Size.
(CTRL+Plus Sign) Zoom in.
(CTRL+Minus Sign) Zoom out.
(CTRL+ALT+Plus Sign) Zoom in and enable "Zoom resizes window"
(CTRL+ALT+Minus Sign) Zoom out and enable "Zoom resizes window"
[note: if "Zoom resizes window" is enabled in Preferences then the 2 above shortcuts will work in inverse, disabling "Zoom resizes window"]
(ALT+Mouse Wheel) Zoom in, Zoom out.
(Space + CTRL) Temporary zoom in tool.
(Space + ALT) Temporary zoom out tool.
(Space) Temporary pan tool.

[Selection]
(Hold SHIFT and select) Adds to previous selection.
(Hold ALT and select) Substracts to previous selection.
(Hold SHIFT+ALT and select) Intersects with the previous selection.
(Start selection then press SHIFT) Lock aspect ratio.
(Start selection then press ALT) Resize selection in all directions.
(CTRL+D) Deselect.
(CTRL+H) Hide selection.
(CTRL+click in a layer) Loads selection for that layer.
(Start selection the press and hold SPACE) Move the selection on the fly.

[Brushes]
(B) Brush Tool.
( [ and ] ) Decrease and Increase size.
( SHIFT+[ and SHIFT+] ) Decrease and Increase hardness.
( , and . ) Previous and Next brush.
(SHIFT+ALT+P) Enable/Disable Airbrush Capabilities.
(SHIFT+Plus Sign) Next Blending Mode.
(SHIFT+Minus Sign) Previous Blending Mode.
(U can set the brush opacity with the numbers. Ex if u want to set opacity to 50%, just press the 5 key.If u want to set opacity to 55, just press the 5 key two times. 0 stands for 100%. )
(To set the brush flow hold down SHIFT and press any number. The same concept as above)

[Type]
(T) Type Tool.
(Escape Key after typing) Discard type.
(Enter) New Line.
(Numpad Enter or CTRL+ENTER) Accept Type.
(CTRL+SHIFT+<) Decrease text size.
(CTRL+SHIFT+>) Increase text size.
(CTRL+SHIFT+L) Align Left.
(CTRL+SHIFT+R) Align Right.
(CTRL+SHIFT+C) Align Center.
(CTRL+SHIFT+J) Justify.
(CTRL+SHIFT+F) Force every line to justify.
(After selecting a text, press ALT+Left Arrow or Right Arrow to increase or decrease tracking).
(After selecting a paragraph text, you can increase or decrease the BaseLine Shift of the selected text by pressing ALT+Up Arrow or Down Arrow. For one single line press SHIFT+ALT+Up Arrow or Down Arrow).
(Double clicking the T symbol in the text layer selects the whole text which is in that layer).
(Link 2 or more layers of text and while holding SHIFT change any attributes, to apply the changes to all layers)

[Other]
(CTRL+SHIFT+N) New layer.
(CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+N) New layer without the New Layer dialog.
(ALT+Click to the Layer Visibility Icon) Hide/Show all the other layers.
(ALT+Click at the Delete Layer Icon) Deletes the layer without asking.
(1-0) Set the layers master opacity. Ex. pressing to sets opacity to 20%, but pressing 2 and immediately 6, sets opacity to 26%.
(SHIFT+1-0) Sets the layers fill opacity. The same concept as master opacity.
(CTRL+BACKSPACE) Fill layer with background color.
(ALT+BACKSPACE) Fill layer with foreground color.
(CTRL+E) Merge two ore more linked layers.
(CTRL+SHIFT+E) Merge visible.
(CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+E) Stamp visible.
(CTRL+W) Close current document.
(CTRL+ALT+W) Close all opened documents.
(CTRL+Q) Close photoshop Smiley

Ok this is all guys. Surely there are more shortcuts and tips for photoshop, but if u learn all these or even a part of them, ull feel a lot more confortable then before and make every single work a lot more easier. Just take it easy and give time to your brain to memorize all these stuff Smiley. Bye for now and if I find or remember any other tips, ill add those in here.

This is a great reference! Cheesy I have already learned most of them, but many of these shortcuts are new to me.

P.S: I have an additional tip: In the image workspace you have horisontal and vertical rulers visible (by default). If you click and drag from these rulers and into the image, you automatically create guides. Quick and easy Smiley

lol forgot to say how to create guides the easy way Smiley. Thnx Zaitzev im adding it.
By the way the long way is by going at the View menu and selecting New Guide. Choose if u want it vertical or horizontal and the position in px or %.

Nice list, i by hearted most of them already, cos when you make 200+ layer car chops, you dont need to be looking for the right tool  Grin

U make car chops? Ive done 2 or 3 simple ones about 4 years ago, and at that time i dint know that was a kinda well known hobby. Then one friend showed me a website (dont remember it) in which i stayed for some days admiring the hall of fame lol. This is my history with car chops.
Anyway Id like to see some of your works. Maybe u can post them in the forum.

PS: If u want i can show u the car chop i made some years back. But dont be laughing Cheesy

man that rocks. Really cool chop and congrats on winning the comp. I see ure experienced in that. Anyway here's what i did some years ago. No body kit, no cool stuff, just some little modifications here and there.
